A customer in the technical textile industry was looking for a surface coating solution capable of reducing plastic material adhesion while withstanding repeated abrasion on critical equipment such as rollers, drums, and calender rolls. The objective was to reduce buildup, simplify cleaning operations, and, above all, extend maintenance intervals on continuous production lines.
Sofiplast solution
To address this challenge, Sofiplast developed a tailor-made solution combining non-stick performance with high mechanical resistance. Depending on wear areas and the type of material being processed, we applied:
- Fluoropolymer coatings such as FEP and PFA (Teflon®, Xylan®) for their excellent non-stick properties
- Fluoropolymer coatings reinforced with PEEK additives (Victrex®) for areas subjected to the highest mechanical stress
